Red names indicate that an enemy is hostile and will attack first if given the opportunity. Humanoids (and creatures) with white names are not attackable. Blue names indicate other players.
Next, look at the mark next to the name. Green means the target is easily defeated. Blue means the fight will be challenging. White means the target has equivalent skills to you and the fight will be a close one. If the mark is blue or white, the enemy is an equal level or less. If the mark is yellow, fighting this creature will be a dangerous proposition.
